Florence Lemoine’s créations seem to defy the laws of the material they’re made of. Her blown and cracked glass lamps, her signature pieces, hold together by seemingly magical energy, diffusing a soft yet real light from their organic den.
Her sculptures titled “Profondeurs” challenge the eyes, plunging us into swirling abysses without fully understanding what we are beholding. And her decorative objects, especially the vases that sometimes borrow her famous cracked glass work or are adorned with textures or gold leaf, exude an elegance that makes us forget the technical constraints she faces.
Born in 1979, Florence Lemoine lives and works in France.
After completing her secondary education in the artistic field, Florence Lemoine discovered glasswork in the year 2000. Following an apprenticeship in traditional glassmaking, she became a European glassworker companion and graduated from CERFAV – European Center for Research and Training in Glass Arts – in 2003. She continued her activity with a residency at the glass museum/art center in Carmaux. She then continued to learn specific glassblowing techniques in France, Sweden, and England.
She opened her first workshop in the south of France in 2006. In 2010, she settled in her current workshop in the Rhône-Alpes region, in Pélussin.
